Urge Nature Valley to Cancel Its Inappropriate Ad

Nature Valley offends conservative parents in one of its latest marketing campaigns. One Million Moms has received complaints regarding a Nature Valley ad, which included insinuated profanity.

A recent commercial featured a dad and his daughter resting at the base of a tall tree. After a long hike, they refuel on a peanut butter and chocolate Nature Valley bar.

Two squirrels perch on a tree branch above them, eating acorns. Enviously, one of the squirrels declares, “And we’re eating old, damp nuts.” It obviously does not sound like “damp” though.

Of course, the implied word is easily identified. Viewers would have to read closed captions to determine if it is not profanity.

Foul language (or implication of it) is unnecessary in this or any advertisement. Everyone knows children repeat what they hear.

What’s worse, these advertisements air during prime time when families are most likely to watch. How damaging and destructive to children! Nature Valley should be more responsible in its marketing decisions.

Nature Valley deliberately decided to produce controversial advertisements instead of wholesome ones. Let Nature Valley know that, as a parent and a consumer, you are disgusted by its recent marketing choices.

Nature Valley needs to know parents disapprove!
