Urge Lundberg Family Farms to Cancel Its Offensive Ad
Lundberg Family Farms’ new “Ducking Good Rice” commercial insinuates unnecessary profanity. Foul language (or the implication of it) is unneeded in this or any commercial, but that is obviously what Lundberg Family Farms intended with their play on words.
The advertisement praises Lundberg’s rice since the company saves and relocates duck eggs when it finds duck nests in its rice fields. Unfortunately, the ad does so with implications of foul language and suggestive dialogue. The inappropriate commercial ends with the slogan, “Ducking Good Rice.”
Obviously, Lundberg Family Farms chose wording that sounded just like a curse word and ended the ad with viewers understanding exactly what was implied.
This type of advertising is entirely unnecessary. Lundberg Family Farms has deliberately decided to produce controversial advertisements instead of wholesome ones. One Million Moms finds this highly inappropriate.
What’s worse, Lundberg’s advertisements air during prime time when families are most likely to be watching. How damaging and destructive to children! Everyone knows kids repeat what they hear. Lundberg Family Farms should be more responsible in its advertising decisions.
This ad demonstrates weak marketing, and Lundberg Family Farms should have the corporate responsibility not to use an age-old euphemism that offends families.
Let them know that, as a parent and a consumer, you are disgusted by the company’s recent marketing choices.
Lundberg Family Farms needs to know that parents disapprove!
