AT&T's Creepy Commercial!
In the latest AT&T commercial, a son and daughter are standing in the hallway outside their parents’ bedroom door, listening in on their conversation. While lying on the bed, the parents talk suggestively about their new iPhone 16 Pro recently purchased at AT&T. From what the teens hear, they imagine something completely different from what their parents are discussing. Of course, the teens do not see all the viewers see. But the cringe on each of the siblings’ faces relays exactly what they think.
The parental dialogue states: “I have a surprise for you.” “Oh yes, please.” “Feast your eyes on this.” “Oh, that’s sexy!” “Feels so new.” “I want to feel this feeling again and again.” “Can I hold it?” “How bad do you want to hold it?” “I am not going to beg, but pretty please.”
What’s worse than these teens walking away from such an obscene-sounding conversation is the fact that they listen in shock to everything spoken on the other side of their parents’ closed bedroom door.
In disbelief, the teen boy asks, “Are they?”
His sister answers in disgust, “Don’t.”
But the parents continue: “Go ahead; press a button.” “Oh, it’s glowing!” “We should do this more often.” “Agreed.”
Finally, the kids walk away.
The AT&T voiceover then states, “Rekindle the feeling of love with the new iPhone 16 Pro on us, and feel it again and again with the latest iPhone every year with AT&T.”
AT&T has deliberately decided to produce controversial advertisements instead of wholesome ones. One Million Moms finds this type of ad highly inappropriate.
What’s worse, AT&T’s advertisements air during primetime when families are most likely to be watching. How damaging and destructive to children! Everyone knows children repeat what they hear.
AT&T should be more responsible in its marketing decisions. Instead of being informative about the iPhone 16 Pro, the ad is harmful to children who view it, while being promoted in the name of supposed humor.
Let them know that, as a parent and consumer, you are disgusted by the company’s recent marketing choices.
AT&T needs to know parents disapprove!
