Urge Arm & Hammer to Clean Up Their Ads!

One Million Moms has received numerous complaints regarding the new ad campaign from Arm & Hammer Laundry. The commercial features Meghan Trainor launching the new Power Sheets laundry detergent. Unfortunately, it also features a “Get Your Sheet Together” slogan.

Foul language (or implication of it) is unnecessary in this or any advertisement. Yet, that is apparently what Arm & Hammer intended.

Trainor states, “Hey, get your sheet together.”

Immediately, the viewer knows what is implied since the word “sheet” so closely resembles the s-word. Many other individuals likely find this ad offensive, which is probably why Arm & Hammer has turned off the comments section of this ad on YouTube.

Of course, the ad campaign obviously insinuates profanity in the commercial. It is also obvious that Arm & Hammer chose to include this profane insinuation and to end the ad with viewers completely understanding the intended implication.

This type of advertising is entirely unnecessary. Arm & Hammer has deliberately chosen to produce controversial advertisements instead of wholesome ones. One Million Moms finds this highly inappropriate.

Apparently, Arm & Hammer executives do not care about what children hear – despite how damaging and destructive such ads are to our children. Everyone knows kids repeat what they hear. This ad demonstrates weak marketing, and Arm & Hammer should have the corporate responsibility not to use an age-old euphemism that offends families.

Let them know that, as a parent and a consumer, you are disgusted by their recent irresponsible marketing choices.

Arm & Hammer needs to know that parents disapprove!
