Dr. Squatch Inappropriate Ads Continue
The newest Dr. Squatch “Pit Stop” ad campaign has crossed the line again with highly suggestive and offensive sexual innuendos. The vulgar commercial features provocatively dressed actress Megan Fox wearing a low-cut neckline, figure-hugging, all-black leather ensemble. As Head Professor of F.O.X. (Foundation for Odor Excellence), she is on a mission to school men on their need for the new Dr. Squatch natural spray deodorant.
Juvenile in nature and deliberately pitched at male viewers who need to leave behind their middle school ways, Dr. Squatch continues to build its brand on irreverent, bold marketing filled with crude humor.
F.O.X. lab professor Megan Fox, self-proclaimed “crush since puberty,” joins partially clothed men in their locker room where she uses the Lord’s name in vain as she declares her disgust over old and spicy deodorant brands used in the past. Fox encourages them to prepare for a wild, new ride as they use the natural spray deodorant products while continuing to “let their stick do the talking.”
This type of advertising is entirely unnecessary. Dr. Squatch has deliberately chosen to produce controversial advertisements instead of wholesome ones. One Million Moms finds this highly inappropriate.
Apparently, Dr. Squatch executives do not care about what children hear – despite how damaging and destructive such ads are to our children. Everyone knows kids repeat what they hear. This ad demonstrates weak marketing, and Dr. Squatch should have the corporate responsibility to avoid using an age-old euphemism that offends families.
Let Dr. Squatch know that, as a parent and a consumer, you are disgusted by its recent irresponsible marketing choices. Dr. Squatch needs to know that parents disapprove!
