Dove Men's Whole Body Commercials Stink!
Dove Men+Care Whole Body Deodorant needs to be called out for its latest commercials. Capitalizing on the fast-growing trend toward normalizing below-the-belt care, Dove’s newest ads declare that their product is safe to use everywhere on your body.
The “Sensitive Parts” commercial states, “Soccer fans know, you got to protect your ‘sensitive’ parts. That’s why Dove Men Whole Body Deo is alcohol-free and made to spray everywhere, even down there.” To illustrate this point, three male soccer players are shown grabbing their own crotches.
The “2026 FIFA World Cup: No Burn” ad targets active men and sports fans. To emphasize the smart, irritation-free choice, a crude element is added by spraying two soccer balls with Dove Men+Care Whole Body Deo. Two other soccer balls receive the “other spray” containing alcohol - those catch on fire.
Since the entire ad focuses mainly on one area of the body, viewers definitely get the message that the deodorant can be applied below the waist.
These details are not necessary when simply mentioning “everywhere.” Even the term “privates” would have sufficed.
The name of the product, Whole Body Deo, is self-explanatory. This should have been enough information to let customers know where the deodorant can be applied without grabbing private body parts or making crude suggestions.
Yet Dove Men+Care chose to air these commercials knowing they would be controversial. Comments are disabled for the commercials on YouTube.
A greater concern is that the ad airs when children could be watching TV. We all know children repeat what they hear.
Dove Men+Care crossed a line that should have never been crossed.
