Update: My Pillow's advertising on "The Mick" has been pulled!
Victory! My Pillow has responded to our concerns regarding their recent ad placement during the program "The Mick." As soon as 1MM alerted My Pillow that its commercials were airing during this indecent show, the company pulled the ads immediately. Thank you My Pillow!
I spoke to My Pillow's CEO Mike Lindell on the phone, and he thanked 1MM for alerting him that his ads were airing during this show. He said My Pillow is a Christian company and doesn't agree with anything on this program. After finding that FOX Network had its ad running during this show, it was pulled.
My Pillow runs ads on FOX News and FOX Business but not FOX and has spoken with FOX about placing My Pillow on the "do not advertise list" for "The Mick." He told FOX if his ad ran again during this program then he would pull all his company's ads from all FOX networks.
This is not the first time 1MM has heard that a network had placed companies’ ads into a show's timeslot without their knowledge or consent. This is proof that networks are ignoring the best interests of both their own sponsors (who don’t want to be associated with programs such as “The Mick”) and of parents and families (who don’t want their kids exposed to lewd s-x talk). But it’s not really a surprise that FOX misinforms its own sponsors. After all, it’s already rating "The Mick" as appropriate for children.
My Pillow has been thanked on your behalf. No further action is needed, but you can keep their decision in mind while shopping.
You are making a HUGE difference!
Thank you (and My Pillow) for helping us fight indecency!
Fox's newest "comedy" series "The Mick" is one of the worst shows 1MM has seen, and that is saying a lot. This vulgar program is far from family-friendly and with a TV-14 DLSV rating, you can be assured this will not be for family viewing. Unfortunately, the name of the show along with the age of the primary cast members may attract young viewers. This irresponsible and tasteless program is inappropriate for any age. "The Mick"airs during what is traditionally a family hour, and yet Fox promoted the series with a #KidsAreDicks campaign.
"The Mick" centers on Mackenzie "Mickey" Murphy, an irresponsible, foul-mouthed, alcoholic, pill-head who is forced into raising her rich sister's intolerable kids after the sister flees the country to avoid a federal indictment.
The content of this unbelievable program includes support of Planned Parenthood, kids getting slapped in the face repeatedly, gagging a child to induce vomiting after swallowing illegal drugs, a young child speaking in an evil demonic voice, the same child covered in nicotine patches instead of band-aids, underage drinking, foul language, heavy alcohol consumption, and drug use.
"The Mick" is twisted and warped entertainment. The victims of this outrageous program are the young cast members, not to mention any children who view the show. The sexualization and moral corruption of these children is child abuse and child exploitation at its worst. No child should be subjected to a bondage gag, cross dressing, and sexual jokes.
Please use the information we have provided on our website to contact My Pillow and ask that they pull their financial support from "The Mick" before next week’s episode.
