A congressional candidate in Texas who is also a war hero was mocked over his appearance during a segment on "Saturday Night Live" during its most recent episode on Saturday evening.
Comedian Pete Davidson was giving his "first impressions" of some candidates ahead of Tuesday's midterm elections during the show's "Weekend Update."
He said that there are "some gross people running for office this year” and mockingly described Gov. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) and Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.), among others.
Davidson then gave his description while chuckling of Dan Crenshaw (R), who lost his right eye in an IED blast in Afghanistan.
He states, “This guy is kind of cool, Dan Crenshaw, but you may be surprised to hear he is a congressional candidate from Texas and not a hitman in a p-rno movie.” All the while laughing, he then says, “I’m sorry I know he lost his eye in war or whatever. Whatever.” Then he addresses his breakup in all seriousness as if it's of vital importance, after laughing at a vet.
Most Americans would find this offensive any day, but especially with Veterans’ Day approaching. The mockery of the former Navy SEALis extremely disrespectful to Dan Crenshaw and all veterans. The network should be ashamed and be held accountableregarding the program “SNL”mocking Navy SEAL War Hero and veterans.
NBC Network needs to know that as an American citizen you are highly offended by this “SNL” skit mocking a GOP candidate's combat wound.
