Alerting all parents! Disney has outdone itself, and not in a good way. In case you missed our first warning, Disney has announced that the live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast will include a gay character.

"Played by US actor Josh Gad, the character of LeFou serves as the sidekick to the film’s primary antagonist Gaston (Luke Evans), and is set to feature in a small but significant subplot of his own when it comes to his sexuality," according to Attitude magazine. (In the photo above, LeFou is pictured left, and Gaston right.)

Beauty and the Beast director Bill Condon told Attitude:

LeFou is somebody who on one day wants to be Gaston and on another day wants to kiss Gaston.

He’s confused about what he wants. It’s somebody who’s just realizing that he has these feelings. And Josh makes something really subtle and delicious out of it. And that’s what has its payoff at the end, which I don’t want to give away. But it is a nice, exclusively gay moment in a Disney movie.

One Million Moms needs your help to make sure as many people know about Disney pushing the LGBT agenda on families, and particularly children, in the upcoming Beauty and the Beast movie. The 1MM Disney Pledge already has over 47,000 signatures! Help us reach 100,000 signatures by signing and then sharing this with everyone you know. Please share this with your friends and family to guarantee they are aware and also have a heads-up. You would want them to inform you if you were not aware of Disney’s twist in its newest film.

After announcing the gay content in the film, now Condon and Gad are trying to downplay the LGBT angle following the Beauty and the Beast backlash, but Disney can’t dodge this public relations nightmare.

Gad told USA Today that he’s “really proud” to play LeFou, and Condon described the gay scene as a “wonderful gay moment.”

Gad pointed out, however, that “there was nothing in the script that said ‘LeFou is gay.’” Condon added, “I think [LeFou’s sexuality] has been a little overstated.”

This is the last place parents would expect their children to be confronted with content regarding sexual orientation. Issues of this nature are being introduced too early and too soon. It is extremely common yet unnecessary.

Disney has decided to be politically correct versus providing family-friendly entertainment. Disney should stick to entertaining instead of pushing an agenda. Conservative families need to urge Disney to avoid mature and controversial topics.
