Subject: This is ridiculous
Your marketing campaign is irresponsible and tasteless. Please, don't lower your advertising standards to the level of offensive ads. You can do better.
Your decision is disrespectful to me personally, and to my family. If you continue to use such poor taste and inappropriate marketing choices, I will make a conscious effort to buy from other companies and will no longer be able to purchase products by Cottonelle or Kimberly-Clark Corporation.
When consumers purchase a product, we are doing more than buying toilet tissue. We are buying the "Cottonelle" name. We are saying not only that we support your product but also that we trust the name. I no longer feel this way about anything labeled "Cottonelle."
I believe Cottonelle and Kimberly-Clark Corporation should be more responsible in advertising. As a consumer, I am asking you to stop producing vulgar ads, and I urge you to cancel the "Commando" commercials immediately. I am also requesting that you remove this indecent marketing campaign from your website and social media sites.
I hope you agree and will pull this ad campaign. I look forward to hearing from you regarding my concern.
In Cottonelle's newest advertising campaign "Dare to Go Commando," a company spokeswoman asks individuals if they feel cleaner after using Cottonelle because of the ripple texture. The Cottonelle spokeswoman goes so far as to ask another woman if she feels clean enough to go commando now. The woman agrees and walks back into the restroom to return with her undies in a small shopping bag. The commercial ends with both women pulling down the waistbands of their pants just enough to reveal they don't have panties on.
Cottonelle is encouraging consumers to go without underwear. Oh, please! This is ridiculous. This type of advertising is extremely inappropriate.
The tissue paper company also has a similar ad, "Go Cottonelle. Go Commando." In this ad, the spokeswoman asks a man to go commando, and it ends the same way.
Please email Cottonelle and ask the company to put a stop to this marketing campaign and cancel the "Commando" ads immediately.
