Howard Stern and 'American Idol', what an oxymoron...
There are few family-friendly programs left on television and it looks like there could be one less if Fox goes through with their latest consideration. Many news sources say Fox is actually considering hiring Howard Stern to be a new judge on the popular show "American Idol." Yes, the same Howard Stern that is known to have the filthiest mouth on the air. Howard Stern has become "famous" by bombarding his audience with s*x talk and vulgar behavior. (* is used to bypass internet filters.)
When "Idol's" co-creator and judge Simon Cowell announced he will be leaving the show at the end of the season, Fox immediately began searching for a replacement. Stern is who they came up with. Each season, the content and character of "Idol" has become increasingly questionable.
Some think Stern would "hold back" if chosen as a judge. But here's a sample of what Stern himself said he would say as a judge on "American Idol." WARNING: GRAPHIC LANGUAGE!
"Hey Fantasia, you're not getting little boys hard. Nobody's beating off to you. You look like you stepped out of a cartoon. Little boys want boners…Get a haircut like Rihanna if you want little boys beating off to you."
This is typical dialogue for Stern. So what makes America and Fox think he will change? Stern has a reputation for being crude and over the top, but in a bad way.
Stern's broadcast conversations about s*x and abusing women were so graphic and offensive that he was forced off the public airwaves and onto satellite radio.
Last season, "Idol" runner-up, Adam Lambert and newest judge, Ellen DeGeneres, are both extremely public in their homosexuality. Unlike Adam, Ellen has remained professional and not said anything out of line yet that would make the contestants or families who are watching uncomfortable. However, Ellen does not have any musical background whatsoever. These were red flags that this program was taking a turn to become politically correct.
TAKE ACTION
Please send Fox an email letter and urge them not to hire Howard Stern! Ask them to consider someone more suitable to be the replacement judge on "American Idol" so America's children and grandchildren are not exposed to this kind of language each week.
NOTE: If you see a commercial or program which is offensive, email us the information.
Many of you have done this, and it is very helpful.
