Rosie O'Donnell and HBO Documentary on their idea of 'Family'

OMM is extremely disturbed by the HBO documentary film, "A Family Is A Family Is A Family," a Rosie O'Donnell Celebration that aired last night. Not only did it reference strongly that there are so many combinations that could make up a family, but it emphasized you could have two moms or two dads.

HBO (Time Warner Inc.) is subscription supported so there are not any outside sponsors or advertisers to contact. The pay television service has a reputation of airing adult and controversial material which is the primary reason why households with children do not subscribe. The ungodly content on this network is actually not suitable for any age.

OMM is also concerned that TLC (Discovery Channel) aided in promoting this program on its network which is usually, but not always, a "safe" channel with family-friendly programming. This is one example where TLC should have used better judgment. The commercial for this documentary was quite offensive and OMM would like neither the film nor the commercial to be aired, but especially not on other networks than the paid television service.

The most disgusting of all is that this ad and program were aimed to appeal to children while desensitizing them to what is an acceptable makeup of a family. Sure, family situations are unique and different when families are blessed with adoption, and there are many grandparents now that play the role as parent. However, as Christians we must draw the line when others portray homosexuality as okay when it is not Biblically correct.

TAKE ACTION

Please send HBO an email letter asking them not to produce and promote documentaries that are opinion and are a slap in the face of Christians. This show was aimed at children when your network's programming is clearly for adults only. Urge HBO not to air this "family" documentary again or commercials promoting this on other networks, especially family type channels.

To take this one step further you can call and/or email Discovery Channel's Advertising Department to complain about this ad for HBO airing on TLC.
